About

TLDR: I am Vijay, Software Engineer with 14+yrs professional experience. Started writing blog, 100% human written content in this LLM era to keep my brain focused and to reflect, think through my thoughts, share anything I feel interesting & helpful.

Vijay

I am Vijay, Software Engineer, Explorer from Chennai, INDIA. Writing blog is not something I thought would do seriously, I did had few blogs mostly like sharing photos, connecting with random people in early days of internet like Sampasite, My Opera blog, Xtgem, Blogger.

I started writing blog now in 2026, where already LLMs have taken over content and generate lot of content in no time. I thought to write blog 100% human content. Apart of my daily yoga, this is another non daily routine way to keep my brain focused, thoughtful and have a genuine time to think through the thoughts.

2007

I started coding in 2007 using mobile phone Nokia 6030, Nokia 3230, built some wapsites for fun. We use to have backlinks to other wapsites and it is so fun to reach to other people via their wapsite contact form and getting backlinks from their site. Copying js, html and css from other sites by seeing their source code back then is so fun! Until we get the firebug extension it is tough to see the websites source code.

2008 - 2012

As I have a lot of interest in computers, I chose & studied Information Technology (I.T) in Dr. M.G.R Educational & Research Institute in Chennai, INDIA. We use to study in Arani Campus for couple of years and then we asked to move to Chennai Campus on 2010, which it opened up lot of opportunities for me. Back then it is so different & costly to access internet mainly using 2G, 3G mobile internet. I built a small html & js calculator to calculate amount for our diary farm milk production, which usually time consuming when backtracking the entries manually, I think it is the first useful thing I did using coding rather than creating fun wapsites.

I didn’t understand much about the 2008 financial crisis, all I know is many feared to study the “Information Technology”, “Computer Science” Engineering in South India, as the last few batches of our seniors are in their home doing nothing or working in their family business or agriculture after getting degree.

Seeing all this, I thought to get into something that pays my rent & food during my college days. During my college final year I use to work on some part time jobs like fixing the computers, networking in BPO centers, Accounts in Cement bricks manufacturing Industry in Chennai, it is so fun to think back and see. In today’s world it is easier to get essential money by doing some gig works, but back then in India it is difficult to get part time opportunities for students, somehow I managed to get.

Internet in those days was costly and slow, which gave us more time to think, imagine, reason, process and dig much deeper.

A few photos from that time.
